“Painting about love. The artist in conversation with the canvas. Love you. Cant get those words out of my head or off my canvas”.

Penny Hudson’s new work “Love Conversations" follows hard on the heels of her recent exhibition ‘Love Letters.

The colours merge and blend, brighten and become subdued. The tones and flow of a conversation about love.

The use of text in Penny Hudson’s paintings began with the ‘Connections’ series of 2005 and has morphed into the repeated use of favourite phrases of endearment. An obsession with naïve and unconditional love? Sure. Who of us is free from such a longing.
