| Purist Gallery opened in October 2002. The Gallery is the result of a joint effort between artist Penny Hudson and jeweller/object maker Max Ball. The husband and wife team previously lived in North Fremantle and sent their creative output to galleries in Perth, the east coast of Australia and internationally.
The two were frequent visitors to the south west of W.A., Yallingup in particular. The beautiful coastline and beaches, peaceful scenery and relaxed holiday atmosphere always appealed.
Max and Penny have travelled extensively around Australia with many stays as artist/crafts-person in residence, in particular Ayers Rock (Yulara, NT) and Port Douglas (far North Queensland).
The residencies proved to Max and Penny that they wanted their own gallery. The positive feedback about their work and the interaction with visitors and customers was so rewarding, they knew this was the next step to take.
Ideas abounded about the best location and style for the proposed gallery. Today you see the results in this stunning, contemporary fine arts gallery set in a peaceful bush setting, minutes from Dunsborough and Yallingup.
Open every Saturday and Sunday all year round 10-5.
