Purist Gallery opened its large, handmade copper door on October 5, 2002 in Yallingup Western Australia.
Designed and built by Max Ball (architect, jeweller, sculptor) the 36 x 9m retro building housed the gallery, two studios and the home of Penny Hudson (artist) and her husband Max Ball and of course Polly the poodle.
For ten years they operated the gallery selling Penny’s paintings, Max’s jewellery and sculpture. Set on 3 acres of natural bush just a few minutes from the famous Yallingup surf beach, the gallery was a creative haven away from the bustle of nearby Dunsborough.
Born in London in 1951, Penny has lived in W.A.since she was 3 months old. Educated at St Hildas Perth she went on to study Graphic Design at Perth Tech then Fine Arts at Claremont School of Art followed by a Degree in Fine Arts at Curtin University. Read More
